Blue Banded Bee Jewellery - Pendant

There are 14 different species of the native Blue Banded Bees and depending on the species, the bands may be blue, aqua, green, yellow, orange, or white.

Blue Banded Bees are solitary bees and don’t live in hives. The females often live in burrows in the ground, or sometimes holes in the mortar of brick walls, while the mischievous boys sleep in groups, holding onto twigs or grasses with their strong mandibles. At dusk, you may see the boys fighting for a good spot to sleep, and at sunrise, you’ll see them having a good stretch before they fly off to start their busy day.

The pendant is inspired by the male Blue-banded Bee, roosting on a twig, and features intricate hand-carved details.
